You and Me...

March 3rd, 2022

A very popular engagement ring setting for 2022 is the toi et moi ring, meaning “you and me”. It's actually not a new style and has quite a history symbolizing love stories and partnerships. It first gained attention with a diamond and sapphire toi et moi ring that Napoleon Bonaparte gifted his wife Josephine in 1796.

The double stone visually symbolizes the coming together of two people and many times a couple will choose unique diamonds and gemstones to further elaborate their love story.  Celebrity engagements this year featured double stones, with Megan Fox's diamond and emerald and Ariana Grande's diamond and pearl toi et moi rings.

Colored stones are also having a moment in 2022, with emerald, morganite and sapphire being the top gemstone choices in engagement rings and other jewelry pieces.

Oval and cushion cut shapes were very popular in 2021 and the trend is continuing into 2022. Cushion cut engagement rings have always been a safe and timeless choice and the oval's soft, oblong shape is favored for drawing attention to the hand and lengthening the appearance of the fingers.

Bigger really is better – at least, when referring to 2022 engagement ring trends. Whether you shop together or let your soon-to-be spouse choose your engagement ring, it should reflect your unique style and last a lifetime. Today's couples are craving grand, over-the-top designs –  and after a couple years of no-frills weddings and engagements, 2022 is the year to go big or go home!
